Build the Wall

This year we moved to a new church. It was not an easy move, nor was it what I had planned. God had been speaking to me as I preached at my last church, "Get out of your box." I preached that message over and over, the Lord would speak it to my heart, and I would think, "OK Lord, these people are sure stubborn." And I would preach it again, hoping they would get it right that time....and it was me!
God began to lay the new burden on my heart in the Spring, I began to pray in earnest after being given confirmation from the Lord, we then went to tryout at other churches, to minister and get to know folks, to find the Lord's direction for us. After ministering in several other churches, I began to get a feeling in me, I cannot describe this feeling, but I knew the answer was close. I also knew these other churches had precious people, but, I never got a peace. One day the Bishop called me and asked me to go to this little town, "just look at it he said"; when I came to this little church whose doors were closed it was sitting in ruins, along with the parsonage, and God spoke to me and said, "Build  a Wall." There was no congregation, no money, no help beyond my wife and the Lord, praise God that was more than enough, but in my mind I was 'critical' thinking. But God said, "Build a wall."
God spoke to me of Nehemiah, of the burden God placed on his heart, of another time and location where Gods house was sitting in ruins, and a man named Nehemiah took up the burden, took on the battle, and was victorious.
Nehemiah built a wall with a spear in one hand and a hoe in the other (Arkansas language) prepared to fight while they were building. Not to give up. But to build a wall.
Nehemiah 6:6,14,16,17
6. So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.
14. And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and  terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.
16. And it came to pass  from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and bows, and the habergeons, and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah,
17. They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one of them with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon.

How could I do less? Did I not have a mind to work? Were not sons, daughters, wives, and homes being destroyed here? Was not the House of God sitting in ruins? I knew exactly what I had to do. I knew it would not be easy (not to pat myself on the back) but I am a builder, I know the hours, weeks, and months, and money it would take to repair these buildings. My mother-in-law reminded me of Nehemiah, God had already spoke that to me, and I knew it was confirmation. I then reminded myself in v. 14 that the Lord IS the Lord, he is mighty and He was on MY side.
We are still building a wall here, work is not finished. It has been hard, it has been a battle. But the reward has been good. The Lord IS good.

I am not ashamed!

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16

Can we be ashamed of hope? Of our joy? Our peace? No! God has given us a precious gift, we cannot, we must not hide it, or shy away from the mercy and love he has given us.
This key to making heaven, is thru Jesus Christ, the hope that was brought about, completed, and worked within the New Testament; for us, a gentile. Oh the love that God has for his children!
Only through Jesus can we make heaven, we must proclaim him as the Son of God, born of a virgin, crucified for us, and praise God, risen and alive today! The good news! The Gospel of Jesus Christ!  Do you know him? Accept him as your Savior!

Fear not, I will help thee

Isaiah 41:13  For I the Lord the God will hold thy right hand, saying, Fear not; I will help thee.

What a great promise this is to us, nay a comfort! We do struggle, we are faced with hardships, we are in trying times, but the Lord has promised he would be right there with us.
I hope that you would take the time to read the entire chapter, if you have time, begin reading at chapter 39.
Have you given God praise this morning? He has been since time immortal, and always will be. He has always been faithful, and has always upheld his children when they were obedient to Him. His love never stopped, his strength was never conquered, his promises are. Yes, they are. They are a fact, it is done. Praise God for his promise, praise God for his faithfulness, praise God for the help, the strength, praise Him for his goodness. The list will go on, and on. Our God is an awesome God.  Do you know him? Do you know about his faithfulness? His help and comfort?
I will gladly help you, I will gladly pray for you! Oh come and know this precious Savior!

Word Sowers

Have you ever given a compliment to someone? Have you seen them literally light up? Have you seen someone say something hurtful to someone, and you could see the hurt? Words.

Mark 4: 14, The sower soweth the word.

WE can chose to have good words, or ugly words. WE can chose if we will be a person people dread to see coming, or rejoice at the sight of them. Which are you? Satan would chose to have your soul, and if you allow him your tongue, he gains entrance to your soul.
Be wise, be not a gossip, or cause strife. The scriptures repeatedly expound to us to be careful for each word that exits our mouths, WE alone are responsible for our tongues, and if we ask the Lord to help us, He will.
Our christian walk, must daily, sow into other lives the word of God, by our example, as well as our words. Yes, speak Jesus.

On this 21st Day the Lord has given us

We serve a faithful God. Studying the word (Holy Bible) this morning, a scripture stood out to me. It was a light to my path on this chilly morning.
I pray it lights your pathway today.

Matthew 6:33-34
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Worry does no one good, in fact, scientist have studies that tell us what God has been trying to tell us all along!
Don't worry. What we as Christians should do is, take it to the Lord in prayer. Just because the saying is old, does not mean it is out of date. It is good, it is wise, and it will help you in your day to day walk.
Today, has enough problems, troubles, and trials without us adding to them from a future we know nothing of, beyond the fact that, if we are Christians, the Lord hold us in his hand & will help us.
God bless you.
